I've seen several people reference the Ebola trial. I've criticized this comparison because it's almost as if people forgot that Ebola has such a high case fatality rate. The Ebola trial for Remdesivir broke nearly every rule of an early treatment regimen, so much so that the authors of the trial even suggested that for every day that treatment of any kind was not provided the odds of dying increased by 11%.
There's a lot of problems with the clinical trial, and anyone who has criticized the IVM trials should take into account all of the issues with the Ebola trial:
