' the unvaxxed are more likely to get Delta ' - are we really sure it is so?

In UK the infection rates for the vaxxed were higher than those of the unvaxxed already in September/October 21, months before omicron became a thing.

It could have been due to omicron cases being wrongly counted as delta cases though.

yeah, and we know from ElGatoMalo what a card-trick the vax categories have been... I'm sceptical.

Although me and my unvaxxed family got hit fairly hard in August, but we're fine now... but lots of our vaxxed friends were fine in August but are getting omi to the point they're in bed ill now.

UK refugee - I just wrote a comment very similar to this.

Georgi - In my particular community, Fall 2021 all the unvaxxed Christians and youth groups and Christians schools seemed to get COVID (definitely Delta symptoms). It was like the virus ripped through the unvaxxed community. None of my vaxxed co-workers were getting it yet. Anecdotal, yes, but I do think that the vaxxed got less COVID (in my community anyway) until December, when everything reversed suddenly and all the immune unvaxxed Christians partied it up for Christmas Eve while the vaxxed hid in their homes and then got Omicron in January anyway. The unvaxxed aren't getting sick in my community right now. It's vaxxy turn.

maybe they were in the happy vaccine valley - somewhere within 1M and 4M after the 2nd dose it appears to reduce the covid symptoms.

Yeah - just to extrapolate our experience:

August

7 year old - no symptom

19 year old - 1 day off his food and sleepless and lethargic next day 250/mmol natural antibodies next month

40's mum - 10 days pretty rotten, still has little taste left

42/mmol natural antibodies next month

40's me - 10 days of waves of medium fever, mainly at night, but able to walk around in the day. I tried running it off twice, no luck.

8/mmol natural antibodies next month - although I've had to take immunosuppressants for my h/l transplant for 31 years so quicker half-life makes sense.

DonтАЩt know for sure, I was just going off assumption the pre-print was correct. I think the interesting this is that now both variants are in the population, there seems to be a preferential infecting of the vaxxed by omicron (as opposed to delta, not as opposed to the unvaxxed).
