I don't understand why the text on the lightboard isn't inverted which is what's I'd expect when you're positioned behind it. Is the camera filming a mirror of this scene?
The recording software (and others I've seen) has a convenient mirror-image feature.
Interestingly, it often appears that more podcasters are left-handed, at least by my observations. I think this is because some are using mirror-imaging. The psychologists tell us that people finding mirroring of their own movements to be more appealing. Some speculate that this is why we have more left-handed presidents.
Neat! Of course, I saw “light board” and the theatre nerd in me thought something entirely different which I have built myself a few times when doing shoestring budget productions. But this looks awesome and I want to try making one! For a show, as a matter of fact. Thanks for the tip!
I saw the thread you posted when you retweeted it. I'd seen those kind of videos but never understood how they got the writing to show up to the observer. Felt like a dummy when you mentioned flipping the video would make it legible again.
My dog waits until I’m in the middle of typing to demand fresh water from the tub faucet by knocking down the wooden bar holding the tub mat. She came up with this unique signal all on her own. There is a bowl of water always sitting on the corner of the tub but with her it has got to be FRESH! water.

Seems the skill of writing backwards is helpful
It's easy if you've spent your childhood standing on one hand while riding a horse as you write in mirror letters with pencil grasped in the feet.

This does seem right up your alley.

Very useful tip!
Très cool. This goes on my mental list of "things to do if I ever settle down in my own place for some significant length of time".
My cat always wants to sleep in my toolbox. And my cockatoo has a fetish for the electrician.
