Aaron Rodgers said he has to wear a yellow wrist band when “at work” to show he’s not vaccinated :-/

How about we all start wearing yellow wrist bands in support of him.

Brilliant. This is an example of owning something together to diffuse the effect (stigmatization in this case).

How to organize it? Should I write a post? Can we find somebody who will mass produce an inexpensive t-shirt? Maybe a simple green t-shirt with yellow arm bands around 3/4 length sleeves?

I prefer a band we can wear at all times. Similar to the pink lace to support breast cancer. I would wear one.

It's one thing to be forced to signal something, its another to support another who is forced. I'd try to get his thoughts on it if somehow possible. Because he may oppose support carried out in such a way.

I guess it was more if they want to single someone out who is not vaccinated and everyone against mandates, vaccinated or not, wears a yellow band… It turns the band into a symbol that says you are against mandates and measures that shame those who are not complying.

more and more athletes seem to be having heart conditions, blood clots, young, fit, healthy people, https://boriquagato.substack.com/p/athletes-covid-vaccines-and-life

So can we just mention that awesome "I'm your Huckleberry" t-shirt?

I didn't notice, but thanks. Always enjoyed that movie.

Fun fact: "You're a daisy if you do" is a twist on an actual quote from testimony about the gunfight at the OK Corral. The actual quote was, "you're crazy if you do." Facing Doc Holliday from 25 feet or whatever that distance was close to a death sentence if you were his first target.

Dana Jumper's avatar

Yep, always liked that one. It's a classic, and surprisingly historically accurate.

This from news clippings at the time: Arizona Weekly Citizen’s article about the gunfight. October 30, 1881.

Did Doc really say “You’re a daisy?”

Yes, according to eyewitnesses of the gunfight and also to newspaper accounts, he did. During the gunfight Frank McLaury said “I’ve got you now, you son of a bitch.” at which Doc Holliday replied, “Blaze away, you’re a daisy if you have.”

I'm also really impressed at how, in the movie at least, Johnny Ringo faced up to Doc Holliday. Hesitant at first, no doubt, but once challenged, had to take the challenge.

JR: "Alright Lunger, let's do it." Doc: "Say When."

Gunslingers are a different breed. Death means nothing, it's inevitable, one day it will come for each and every one. Pride, skill, honor, truth--those mean more.

Explains much of Aaron Rogers' success and also his response to this madness.

Oh, interesting. I wonder if there were multiple written records of what he said. I know there were numerous depositions taken and have been preserved. Diary records, too.

The cases of well-known athletes having severe reactions to the vaccine raises the same issue in regards to other “famous” people. I wrote the below back in May. Now it’s even worse:

For a vaccine that’s supposed to be safe, there seem to be a lot of “famous” people dying after getting it. Hank Aaron, Cicely Tyson, Marvin Hagler, Larry King, the rapper DMX, there was an actor famous in India who was a spokesperson for getting the vaccine, a CNN legal analyst who promoted getting the vaccine,  and now these two:

39-year-old model, Malaysian Olympic archer die days after COVID vaccines

British fashion model Stephanie Dubois suffered a blood clot days after vaccination with AstraZeneca’s COVID vaccine, while a young two-time Olympian died 10 days after receiving Pfizer’s vaccine.

 And this:

https://healthimpactnews.com/2021/59-year-old-israeli-fashion-icon-alber-elbaz-dead-after-being-fully-vaccinated-for-covid-19/

As this list shows there’s a range of being “famous”. Can it be quantified? This article associated it to having a wiki page:

The Fraction of Famous People in the World

Is there any way to determine the fraction of notable people on the planet? Wired Science blogger Samuel Arbesman considers various ways to calculate how many of the world's humans are famous.

https://www.wired.com/2013/01/the-fraction-of-famous-people-in-the-world/

Putting It at 1/10,000 worldwide, or 1/2,000 in the English speaking world. But this would give really high numbers for the numbers of the average person dying worldwide from the vaccine. If there really were 1/10,000 “famous” people in the world, then just from this list of 11 “famous” people dying after the vaccine that would correspond to 110,000 people worldwide dying from the vaccine.

This really is so great! I'm not a sports fan so I confess to never having heard of him despite the fact that I am a graduate of University of Wisconsin at Green Bay lol. I've watched half the video so far and it truly is outstanding and I am thrilled that over 3/4 of a million people have seen it so far.

Thanks for that. For that German article you linked to, Google did a translation for me when opening it.

For purposes of accuracy, it should be noted the 75 athletes discussed there are not just deaths but cardiac problems where they survived.

Also there have been cardiac issues for professional athletes before the vax. Then a statistical analysis needs to be done. If previously there were perhaps 1 or 2 per year, but now 10 to 20 that is extremely concerning.

Aaron Rodgers has always had an independent streak. If it was someone else, I would expect the next move to be to sacrifice themselves on the altar of outrage and put on a big show about getting vaccinated, but I suspect Rodgers would rather retire than submit. I’m not into the whole hero worship thing, but anyone that brings mass media exposure to the situation is pretty cool in my opinion. I would suspect most of the GB fans are pretty damn proud to have him as their QB, as the Masked Cult of Vaxxlandia, US Division, mostly exists in the coastal metropolises. The rest of the country, from what I’ve seen, is in a constant state of facepalm.

Players have put someone else's urine into their own bladder to pass drug tests. These teams have their own medical staff. Does anyone seriously think that a player who has put someone else's urine into their bladder isn't going to tell the doc to shoot the poison into the sink? And the doc is going to do it. Does anyone seriously think that Tom Brady, well known for being obsessed with his health, said sure, you can jab me. No way I'm taking your BTC wager!

Being "anti-vax" is an option I wouldn't deny someone. I understand why Rogers would be tempted to lie and say he was vaxxed. But it still failed to support people who are afraid of or opposed to the vaccines on ethical grounds.

DR's avatar

'would be tempted to lie' should changed to 'lied'

Zade's avatar

ok fair enough. I know people who've lied on the spot like that when pressed to say if they were vaxxed. In the moment I can understand a defensive lie. But when I think of doing it myself I just can't. For the life of me. I've always been obstinate. Now is no exception.

DR's avatar

I expect that the Packers expected to get 4 years of leadership for $134M, but leadership may mean something different to Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers can withstand a 350lb defensive lineman but fumbles under questioning of his actions?

Zade's avatar

He's good at football. Character develops over time. Maybe the money delayed its development in his case. It totally ruins some people. I hope he'll develop better spine because of this.

toolate's avatar

one thing i dont get: how do rogan and crawford get mabs? they dont fit criteria do they?

Zade's avatar

It depends on the city/county/state you live in. You can be 50 here and get it. They've gotten very ready here to give that infusion to anyone over fifty with covid.

toolate's avatar

where are you and do you have link?

Zade's avatar

Wicomico County Maryland. We have a hospital here that gives that stuff out at the ER. All I could find of any help for a link was this: https://www.facebook.com/WICOMICOHEALTH/posts/10157831433417470

It's from March and the criteria are now that anyone over 50 can request it. They are being very liberal with it now.

When you test positive here in this county, the Board of Health notifies your PCP and he should mention that it's available if you want it. That's how it worked for us. I refused it as I didn't think I needed it, my husband took it.

Hard to find straightforward info on it here because all the official websites are pushing the vaccine.

Hope that helps.

He should be supported for standing up for his medical rights. His original answer was completely appropriate to an inappropriate question about his medical status.

DR's avatar

In your opinion, it's appropriate for him to lie?
