Ah man that's super cool! Liam is super cool! Liam found The Eagle and supported me very early on! He's got good mojo and he reminds me Jason Mraz for some reason? Congrats to you both, should be very cool and intellectual discussions you guys are going to get into!
AND, if you tuned in to the latest FDA meeting, they've granted Emergency Use Authorization to the genetic sequence of Mraz's hair. Turns out it's 132% safe and effective!
I can't properly articulate how excited I am. Thank you, Mathew, for getting RTE going, for the community you've gathered, and for inviting me to lend my voice. LET'S DO THIS!!!
Guest suggestion because he fits the bill of "Guests you will wonder why you've never heard about before" for many and is a specifically good fit for the RTE substack audience is Christopher Langan. Totally red-pilled and the most brilliant mathematical logician of our time.
(E.g. defines reality as a closed system under influence because anything real enough to influence it is part of it, and therefore deduces that it must be fundamentally self-stimulative in nature. This implies a multitude of things, including that reality is not less real to itself than are its human subsystems. (There's a lot more, obviously, and hopefully he'd forgive my exceedingly informal treatment))
Probably his best-known writing was a 2002 paper titled "The Cognitive-Theoretic Model of the Universe: A New Kind of Reality Theory" which can be found at the following link: http://infolab.ho.ua/Langan_CTMU_092902(1).pdf
That's usually the best place to start, even if you only have time to skim with one eye.
He's since released series of papers to the journal Cosmos and History. I'm not recommending you read them because the above paper is still the best introduction, but felt compelled to let you know they exist:
There's also the "softer" 2018 "Metareligion as the Human Singularity" paper, which talks about the impending "parasitic divergence" where humanity effectively becomes enslaved to a parasitic overclass: “Due to the double whammy of globalization and powerful surveillance and coercion technology, the [parasitic divergence] now in progress is geographically ubiquitous and quite possibly irreversible."
(^^That YouTube channel has a bunch of excerpts from him regarding the theory in general (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u-oFkK_esSQ) but a speed-skim of that original "The Cognitive-Theoretic Model of the Universe: A New Kind of Reality Theory" paper will do the concepts way more justice.)
Don't feel like you have to have his theory down pat (or even close) before you have him on; I've yet to see an interview with him where that was even remotely the case. But you can't not look at his work and realize he's using the methods you'd have to use if you really wanted answers, and so that's why I suggest light skimming if you have the time. And for the intellectually curious in these curious times, I can't think of a more interesting interview.
Hey Mathew - If you would like SuperMagnetMan as a guest I would love it - of course, as you know, I can participate in a wide range of discussions. This really sounds like fun and I look forward to it. Keep us informed.
I love your username. I'm not sure who you are, but every time I see your username, I have a childlike spasm in my mind that says, "potatopotatopotatopotato..."
I found you. Here's what I asked Mathew. Dear Mathew, would you forward this video to Dr Rose. I'm not a paid subscriber and thus can not post on her substack but I know that she is looking into the subject of Amyloidosis so I'm posting the video link here for you to share if you think it's a good idea. Video link of Dr Walter Chestnut and Dr Mc Cairn. https://www.wetalkyoulisten.com/play/188 . Thank you in advance and/or sorry to have to ask such a thing. Anyone else is welcome to share as well.
I took it as you're certain that more exploration - and uncertainty - are necessary. I agree they are.
Although uploading my consciousness to a transhuman hivemind feels like the only way to keep track of the amount of extremely good podcasts and substacks that already exist, with finite time that moves faster and faster - your podcast, as is your substack, will be the top of the list.
Maybe we're better off finding ways to better learn in limited time, and being limited while spending time with other humans. Maybe I'll be convinced otherwise, but I think we are on the cusp of a new set of low hanging fruit of advancement without the need for going cyborg. Maybe we just need the people who run the current system to get the heck out of the way.
I hope humanity does not go cyborg! (Hope was clear that I was joking about uploading to transhuman hive mind to keep track of stuff!) But satire is life now and life is satire.
I don’t know of many great podcasts, have any suggestions? Very much looking forward to RTE podcast…often when I’m multitasking I prefer to listen rather than read
Some good ones are Dark Horse (Bret Weinstein & Heather Heying) (Odysee + Youtube) / the FLCCC weekly webinars / Vaccine Safety Research Foundation (both on Odysee) / Tessa Lena's podcast "Make Language Great Again" ( https://tessa.substack.com/ ) / Chris Martenson's info on PeakProsperity.com / James Lyons-Weiler's Unbreaking Science ... Charles Eisenstein .. and there's Joe Rogan on Spotify ... and zillions more .... Looking forward to the RTE podcasts too ...
“Discussions of principles and modes of reasoning.” - This is an excellent addition. I come to Substack for scholarly yet accessible analyses of Covid & current events. Sounds like the podcast will offer further thoughtful exploration. Good luck to you!
Wow, whew and my goodness this is a fantastic undertaking but it will take some adjusting for me. The image in my mind from incredible wiki work was grey haired old chap, not a dashing young hunk. That's probably ageist or sexist but it's offered as proudest to see effort and skill shine more! <3
Definitely have missed your writing and analysis. Excited to see how the new ideas develop. Someday I’ll get to writing some stuff. I live on a boat and generally have lousy or no internet so that is my excuse. LOL.
I missed you Mathew. This podcast is a great idea. I wish you much success!
May the force be with you!

True fact: I was spawned out of a strand of Jason Mraz's hair.
I've said it before and I'll say it again - the Eagle saved my life!
"I was spawned out of a strand of Jason Mraz's hair."
Politifact just confirmed this statement.
AND, if you tuned in to the latest FDA meeting, they've granted Emergency Use Authorization to the genetic sequence of Mraz's hair. Turns out it's 132% safe and effective!

This will be good fun.
Awesome!!

Interesting suggestion. Can you link to your favorite article or conversation with Langan?

I suspect we will one day have a topic with need for a super magnet expert.
Cheers.
Liam is a brilliant pick.
True. And I'm probably a little slow in the head for not realizing that sooner.
Yes, Matt. YES YES YES!!!
I love your username. I'm not sure who you are, but every time I see your username, I have a childlike spasm in my mind that says, "potatopotatopotatopotato..."
Yay!

That appears to not be a working link 😕
Mathew
Congratulations on your launch 7/5
Just a sense about your launch announcement. It seems to have an "all knowing" edge to it's intended format. None the less, best of luck and success.
Oh, I hope it does not come off that way. My goal is more about exploration than certainty.

Love, a very analog Gen Xer
I figured, but I took it as an opportunity to point to one way we can move forward as humans.
Cheers.
: )
Yes, this. I am very excited for the podcast. We need it.

Wow thanks you gave me a lot to work with! Always great to get new sources of truth/entertainment. Much appreciated
I’m excited for this. I was hoping this would happen after listening to the recent Tommy’s Podcast with you and Dr. Rose.
Liam has done great work with the wiki.
Can I do episode 2, pleeeeaase?!
I can think of a few conversations I'd like to have with you. I will email you.
What a great thing to look forward to!
Looking forward, Mathew! We need alternative ways to keep ourselves informed. Traditional media is failing us.
Definitely have missed your writing and analysis. Excited to see how the new ideas develop. Someday I’ll get to writing some stuff. I live on a boat and generally have lousy or no internet so that is my excuse. LOL.
