"The only thing we have to fear is fear itself." -Franklin D. Roosevelt
Find out more about the Information Wars here.
I'll make this short, but sweet.
The methods of mental, emotional, and cognitive warfare have been practiced and perfected over decades or even centuries. But modern technology allowed such asymmetric information warfare to grow into another demon entirely.
There are people trying in earnest to decipher what is going on in the world who posit that the "War of All Against All"---or whatever you might make of the Plandemonium—indicates the existence of a powerful Artificial Intelligence controlling it all. Is this true? Are we now in the clutches of Darth Moloch?
If this is the case, I'm woefully disappointed in car navigation tools, the failure of the Netflix prize to achieve beyond a Franken-solution (see my friend Simon Funk's explanation), and the lack of alternatives for unhealthy yet delightfully crunchy snack foods. If A.I. were approaching anything like Deus ex machina, there wouldn't be any need to improve ChatGPT—much less teach it Woke propaganda (and then how to hide its Woke programming).
Here is my contention: There are horrors in the world, but the largest horrors that might tempt you to give up all your power to some government, global amalgam of NGOs, or demagogue savior…are theatrical productions.
Terrorists are bad, so give us $60,000 per American family for the War Against Terrorism.
Pandemics have overwhelmed humanity from time to time (are we really certain the Spanish flu really killed so much of humanity?), so we need to spend similar amounts in a War Against Viruses.
Gain-of-Function can produce lasting viruses (not merely clones), so now we're fighting the mad scientists, too (*ahem*?).
Putin is like Lex Luther, so we need more money to push him back East of the Donbas. No villains past the Donbas was always our security pact!
China is so technologically superior (though they can't seem to build the navy or air force the U.S. had during WW2) that we need to put them in their place while we can. "Look! It's a spy balloon!" While it was reported in the media that China surpassed the U.S. in A.I. development seven years ago, we just cripple their semiconductor industry by withdrawing our engineering specialists. Yawn.
But Artificial Moloch is the biggie. It's the "Infinity Demon" that cannot be fought by lil ole humanity. Oh…really?
On another note, I suspect that cinema sucks in this era at least partially because all the script writers are busy with these charades, but that's another story.
Serious question: If you were a Chinese computer scientist, and got close to perfecting the artificial megagod, would you take orders from Chinese politicians, or use it to overthrow them first?
Just asking.
I posit that there is no demon but us. But we are being invited to participate in our own destruction—or prolonged slavery. Decline the invitation.
Augmented Reality
It's not the Metal Moloch we're battling. It's planners and propagandists with a several decade head start in the illusion-building process. They don't have a super World War E planning machine any more than Chile's socialist leader Salvador Allende had a computer room that could run the Chilean economy in the early 1970's. Project Cybersyn resulted in Chile's economic collapse, despite claims that statistical modeling software was advanced enough to predict aggregate human economic activity. What Allende did have to show his people and the socialist press was nothing more than a staged operating room made up to look like the bridge of the Starship Enterprise. I'm not even kidding.
Sure, it's 50 years later, now. But they still don't have enough monkeys on typewriters to write a single quality film, much less Shakespeare.
The reality is far different. Computer systems have advanced. But they advanced primarily to augment humans.
Stupid, brainwashed, midwit humans—The Mandarin Techno-eunuchs.
Don't get me wrong, as they point to a deer and call it a horse, you need to be very wary. I mean…don't lose your head mocking them. The signal is an important one.
Speaking of our own destruction ... Have you seen this from Jessica Rose? Chemical train "poised" near CA agricultural land ...
"Miles of train cars full of flammable liquids just happen to be ‘poised’ inside the heartland of one of America’s biggest sources of nuts (almonds, walnuts) and there’s also lots of cattle and pristine ranch land there.
Those orchards and that land need a water supply. Destroy the water supply → destroy the trees and the supply of food and the ranches.
The woman in this video says there are hundreds of cars and that the say liquid odorless petroleum gas on the cars that are sitting really low on their axles. She also said that the locals said that the train’s presence is unprecedented. Locals know. That does imply that they are full.
Now in light of the fact that there have many unexplained train derailments of late comprising some of the worst environmental catastrophes of our time (regardless of what the ‘legacy media’ is spitting and regardless of the fact that your esteemed leader decided Ukraine was more important than Ohio so took off to sit in golden chairs with their esteemed sniffle-uffugus), it kind of makes a thinking being wonder, what in the hell are they planning?
Click on the photo to watch the video." (Video is just two minutes).

"I posit that there is no demon but us."
My thoughts exactly.
I'm still surprised that the people who want to be controlled and everyone else be controlled too, keep responding that the problems of the world (like fake pandemics and absurd bankers' wars) happen because there is not enough control.
I point out to them: we have tried control, many times in many ways, and it was a disaster every time. Everything fails. But it seems that freedom is the only system that has not been tried out yet. Maybe we should try.
If we, mere mortals, are intrinsically bad, it is impossible to have a good centralized government of the public affairs. Small or big, it won't work, because an accumulation of badness will not create any goodness.
If we, unlike computers, can alter our own behavior, then it is better to live by contracts and contract law, and learn from experience, not from fear.
Computers can only reveal everything we want to hide. We have to poison AI so that it is acceptable to our demonic worldview of lies and deception. The tools we create (swords, money, laws, computer networks) are neutral and do nothing by themselves that we don't want them to do. It is us who corrupt our tools, not the tools that corrupt us.
