"Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath." -George Carlin
Go ahead, laugh at the absurdity. It's horrible. It's painful. But what else can you do?
Depression is a withdrawal into a healing mode, but you can't stay in that mode forever. You have to recognize who and what is horrible, do a bit of thinking to understand it, and then just laugh. The more joy good people express, the more attractive a good world becomes.
Laugh Around the Campfire
We can all participate.
With help from some of the crew at Operation Uplift, we've taken a couple of my articles (here and here), added a few stories, and turned them into a participatory website: ViralAbsurdities.com.
The site has an organized Table of Nonsense with such categories as
Absurd Public Health Measures
Absurd Theories of Disease
Absurd Economic Destruction
Absurd Science
Absurd Politics
Health Security Theater
Persuasion
Nobody likes to put themselves in a corner to be laughed at, and it would be mean to do that to a person over and over again. But consider the opportunity to share this on social media to be something like…holding up a mirror to those cursed to holding rigged mirrors.
So, keep the campfire going. Add your own observed tale of pandemonium absurdity.
Final Step: Share It Virally
Go ahead, campers. Be a superspreader.

YES! We need humor. Thank you! Definitely an essential part of the resistance!
I think that's a tremendously good move. What a great resource. I can suck chunks of ammunition out of it and fire them at the enemy from time to time. Wrong way to think. Sorry. I mean wonderful doses of sane observance. I can throw them at the afflicted and maybe pierce the armour of their conditioning and make the light burst in on them.
I've been in great need of such a resource. Thank you, Matthew. :)
As to adding my own observations - everything I thought of I found you'd already covered except maybe that basic overall one: that in fact there is no emergency - is that covered?
I'll go check. :)
