The Bitcoin blockchain is now over 14 years old. It has survived the slings and arrows of critics and naysayers—at least so far. The enormous global network that has developed can absorb improved designs that might elevate competitors. While it may not yet be clear that Bitcoin becomes the de facto global reserve currency, it is clear that Bitcoin changed the game in a nontrivial way. In other words, Bitcoin is part of History.
And people have fun with it. A collectibles market is already in place revolving around early Bitcoin mementos and gadgets. One day, early Bitcoin wallets will be auctioned off. Oh, wait, that already happens on Ebay. Also on Ebay are graded gem mint Topps cryptocurrency cards. These items aren't cheap.
So, it was inevitable that a Bitcoin trading card company would pop up, though it's the sort of project that needs the right team to make it artistic, fun, humorous, and also historically serious.
I only heard about the Bitcoin Trading Card company a few hours ago from a friend who apparently won two of the rarest cards in some sort of poker tournament (he is a professional player). He linked me into the telegram channel, and I found my way to the company website. The chatter was that the very first boxes and packs of Series 1 cards were sold out, which disappointed me.
